Lené Garrett
Executive Director
CASA of Linn County

Lené began her career in the corporate business arena where she spent ten years in management and computer sales. It wasn’t until she had three children of her own that she found her greatest passion.

For the past 14 years Lené has been a CASA volunteer. In addition, she worked for CASA of Jackson County as the Program Administrator for nine years, recruiting and training over 200 volunteers who advocated for hundreds of children.

Lené has served on committees with the Juvenile Court Improvement Project, the Citizen’s Review Board, the Early Childhood Partnership Team, the Jackson County Multidisciplinary Team and DHS Child Welfare. Effecting change through these and other ventures accessible through her service and work at CASA of Jackson County has made the past 14 years invaluable for her.

As Lené, her husband, Ron and youngest son look to relocate to Linn County, Lené looks forward to her service of the people there—most importantly, those children who still need a voice.

Every day abused and neglected children are removed from their homes and placed into substitute care because their parents can not or will not protect them. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers work to help find these children safe permanent homes where they can thrive.

Become a CASA volunteer and be rewarded with some of the most powerful and fulfilling experiences you can find. CASA is the only organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed officers of the court.

You don't have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer. We're simpy looking for people with a desire to help abused children. As a CASA volunteer, you'll receive training from professionals in the legal and welfare fields, and you'll have the complete support of your CASA organization to help you through each case.

Your involvement will make a direct impact on a child's life and perhaps for generations to come. Abused and neglected children here in Linn County are waiting for a CASA volunteer. If you or someone you know can volunteer to speak up for a child, please contact us!
